Narvik has the answer for cold concreting

To gain acceptance from the construction sector for a method to control the setting of concrete with the use of a fluid heating system requires practical proof. In this matter SINTEF Narvik is contributing with field trials. The work is performed in cooperation with the Cold Concrete Cluster (N3C), which has 43 member companies, and represents the whole value chain within construction and concrete sector.

When the nights become long and freezing temperatures arrive, performing concreting becomnes difficult. If the thermometer shows 5 °C or less there are many challenges in wait, and in come cases the work has to be suspended undtil warmer temperatures in spring. This naturally has an impact on profitability.
